Backyard Food Gardens was founded in 2006 by Ramsey Cronk and Joshua Deutsch to bring food production to urban areas. We believe that urban food cultivation can reestablish critical connections between humans and the environment and serve as a stepping stone for larger transformations in the way we eat, think, and live.

Growing food promotes physical activity, good nutrition, active lifestyles, and environmental awareness. It beautifies communities and encourages cooperation and social interaction between neighbors.
